North Uist is a circular island with rocky hills and bays on the east and sandy beaches to the west.


The highest hill is Eaval at 347 metres.


Lochmaddy is the main town with the ferry terminal,a couple of hotels and a visitor center Taigh Chearsabhagh which houses a museum,art gallery,gift shop and cafe .


There are countless fresh water lochs to experiment in catching brown trout.


For walkers and birdwatchers,Balranald is a natural nature reserve includes beaches,dunes,and fertile machair ,marsh.lochs and a visitor centre with rare and beautiful birds and wildlife in abundance ,during the summer nights you can hear the call of the male corncrake .


Langass has a Neolithic chambered cairn-and standing stone circle,fantastic place for spotting otters with designated otter trail.


Struan House is conveniently located 10 miles from Lochmaddy and Bernary ferry terminal,to enable our guests to explore the beautiful Islands of North Uist.
